I used the word "vacillate" in an e-mail today concerning some vague aspect of the big Dell adapter recall. There's nothing too special about the word, but the act of verifying its meaning and spelling took me to a new place (for me, at least), the Websters Online Dictionary (WOD). Careful! The Partial Terms of Use asks that users of the WOD "feel free to look up words in the dictionary on an occasional basis (i.e. at most a few words per day), so that frivolous bandwidth use is minimized." So listen to the nice person and behave yourself.
